How does the royale themepack work?

I just downloaded the royale theme pack from the New Zealand Microsoft website. I do not use a uxtheme patch, but the theme seems to work. Can somone tell me how?

Because it's an official Microsoft theme that is digitally signed by Microsoft.

so how come we have to use a patcher or WB to use other themes? Can the signature not be copied or something like that?

Nope. Hence why you have to use WB (not that that is a bad thing as WB has sooooo many more features).

What about logonui.exe? doesn't it have a signature?

No, as I understand the hacked logonui.exe takes out the code that checks for digital signatures, therefore making any correctly formatted skin able to be used (Do correct me if i'm wrong).

uxtheme.dll is an intlectual property of Microsoft. Cracking/altering/ptaching it without permission from Microsoft is Illegal.
